Ross's Short Report of flying in 2010...
We travelled the North Island earlier in the year with our Bittersweet Hot Air Balloon
and our Bittersweet Herb and Spice Blends
. What a great way to advertise, to see this beautiful country and to meet people enjoying our products.
First we went to the Wairarapa where I was interviewed by Josh of TV3 on the Sunrise program of 19 March. Click below to view a star in the making and see the Bittersweet
Balloon inflating on a perfect morning.
We then joined about 20 balloons flying in Levin over the Easter Weekend. There never has been more perfect weather and we flew every day. Here is a photo of me (the Bittersweet Balloon
is right in the middle) competing in a water task.
Every balloon was given a Styrofoam boat on a long string and was instructed to fly over the lake and drag the boat on the surface for as long as possible. This would demonstrate the pilot's ability to control the balloon. If I failed I got dunked! Because of the winds we all got multiple tries. Fantastic for the spectators and us. I did really well and upheld the family honour and only got a little wet.
